Hi,
The problem is since Im not able to install it Im not able to go to the
   single user mode.
Is this problem due to the way Im burning it on to the USB stick or
could something be wrong with the way the image was created?

     MIC2
Also, if that doesn't work, boot in single-user...boot up to the
kernel...then run 'X-configure' to automatically create an
xorg.conf...then use that xorg.conf to try and 'startx'...
I suspect the issue might be that...but I can't be sure until we at
least assert that you can boot up to the kernel...

     Ok try this....
Boot from single-user mode...see if the kernel comes up...then

To boot to single-user, when the install menu comes up, press
'escape', then add the word 'Single' in the boot options...

     Hi,
     I initially used the command
                      "sudo dd
     if=moblin-2.1-2.1-preview-ivi-noiegd-201002182031.usbimg of=/dev/sdb
     "
to burn the image to the USB stick.
After Selbak's suggestion I also tried the
                      "moblin-image-writer -c
     moblin-2.1-2.1-preview-ivi-noiegd-201002182031.usbimg "
but both give me only the blinking cursor on the black screenwhen I
try to boot from the USB stick.
I tried to install the image from the USB stick to a hard disk it
     gives me the error:
"Waiting for system to settle before starting
     installation...
19:09:54 Fatal Error: X startup failed
                      /usr/sbin/liveinst: line 90: kill: ' ' : not a pid
     or valid job spec
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel"
I haven't tried the LiveCD yet.
The command I used to create the image in the first place is
                    "sudo moblin-image-creator --verbose --debug
     --config=2.1-preview-ivi-noiegd.ks --format=liveusb --cache=mycache"
     Any help????
     Thanks
     Vandana
