Hi I have installed the xorg-x11-drv-vesa-2.2.1-3.3.moblin2.i586.rpm in the moblin2 ivi image but it does not load any vesa module. I have also added a Driver section in the xorg.conf file for vesa and it does not boot from the init 5 mode and when I boot using the single user mode and try going to the GUI mode using the "startx" command, it gives an error log stating "Failed to load module "vesa" (module requirement mismatch, 0)" In case I have installed the wrong version can anyone please suggest which is the correct version? even the command "modprobe vesa" gives the error "FATAL: Module vesa not found."
Thanks in advance Vandana Hi Vandana, You don't necessarily have to use IEGD with Moblin. You can use Moblin 2.1 with the open source vesa driver - a standalone image w/o IEGD driver is available for download as well. Hope this helps. But I realised that it seems to be the second step, the main issue here is, Im using an Intel Atom board having GMA 500 chipset on which there is a moblin 2.1 image(fedora 12 based) and it has only an Intel Embedded Graphics Driver and to bring up the frame buffer I need an additional frame buffer driver. Can someone please suggest which driver can used to enable the frame buffer , which supports both the GMA 500 chipset as well as the moblin OS which is fedora 12 based. Thanks in advance.
