The name "nabla" is also very close to "nambla" and I doubt the ASF
wants to be associated with that organization.

 Nabla is also valid in several western languages as being the symbol used
for gradients and connections, a fundamental of any differential geometry
course.


I'm not saying that "nabla" isn't a perfectly valid name based on its
relation to the problem at hand (I was a math major and I vaguely
remember using that term in class).  I'm just pointing out the
unfortunate coincidence that it resembles the name of an organization.
