Forgive my lack of clarity.... when I said non-music CD, I meant non-
audio CD.  Like a CD for a program, or data backups, or pictures.  It is
interesting that a DVD didn't work either.  What is the make/model of
your computer.  Even better, if you know, what is the model of the
CD/DVD drive?

Before Ubuntu upgrade to 9.10, the Rhythmbox side pane had the item "Unknown" 
which I had to click to play inserted CD's.  That's missing, so I can't play 
CD's.  Help! I don't know what to do, if not that?
