That's simply not so. Whatever we eventually decide on, 60% of the packages in debian will support it on the next build, because they use debhelper. 15% more will use debstd and presumably support it just as quickly. That leaves a meager 25%, some of which should to have maintainers who know exactly how building a debian package works, and can presumably handle this on thier own, and some of which have idle maintainers and won't be fixed anyway. -- see shy jo
