Could you be a little more clear? Symlinking of /usr/doc/<package-foo> to /usr/doc/<package-bar> clearly works and doesn't bother dpkg at all. Many packages do this already. How is pointing the symlink at /usr/share going to make dpkg upset? -- see shy jo
