Okay. I also realized this as I was applying patches, it is clear my
use of quilt needs improvement, but I think I understand the process
anyway, at least I hope so. I thought it better to continue with the
package patched and add quilt to supress the lintian warnings, but I
will look at the package again to see if I can solve this in a more
elegant manner.

It does get mangled, at least on my system. I will fix that as
