Yes, there is a new template because the NMU I'm doing to incorporate translations that were rotting in the BTS also includes somre rewrites of the original debconf templates. So, this fuzzies out the German (and others) translation, which explains why I sent this call for updates. Unfortunately, as Bruno Haible's name appeared in the de.po file, *he* got the notice but you didn't. I suggets you directly talk with Holger Wansing who followed this closely and has the de.po file to update (see also the debian-i18n ML for the original call for updates which gives a pointer to a place where PO files to update can be downloaded).
