I don't find quoting popcon stats useful. You've used them to support the claim both that this is important and that users don't find it confusing. I understand your reasoning for why you believe that the popcon stats argue this is not confusing. I think your reasoning rests of the false assumptions that users are likely to report bugs when they find something confusing. In my experience that's not the case. Instead, they are likely to get grumpy and decrease their overall confidence in some software. Users cannot be counted on to proactively report confusing aspects of software. I find the claim that this is important because of the popcon numbers vaguely dubious as well, but it's harder to justify my concern. At least for me though, every time you quote popcon numbers, I take you less seriously.
