Tom., I had similar experience and dropped Geico in favor of adding a rider on
my homeowner's policy; the additional expense was worth it; I had a major claim
and they were very supportive and paid to have my hull repainted; PS: I used to
have an 85 29-2 and loved it!
I would start with your home owner's agent....

I know this isn’t a new topic, but given the semi-recent requirement for V & C
independent surveys for insurance, I’m shopping for an alternative to Geico.
Recently received instructions from them to completely open up / “repair” about
4’ of my stbd topside due to a somewhat higher moisture reading. Even the
surveyor said it wasn’t an issue.
I could go on belly-aching about other ‘directives’ from them, but suffice to
say am looking for your collective wisdom …and other companies !
