As a relative newbie I took the belt and suspenders approach. The mast boot needed to be cut and trimmed to fit and I added tape (plenty of it) to make it as watertight as possible. The one concern I have is the small gap due to the design of the mast. I thought perhaps a removable plug of silicone caulk there might have been a good idea. Sent from my iPhone
