Joe,
My 1984 C&C 32 has rod rigging....have it inspected every 5 years when
an insurance survey is required. My last inspection of the rod rigging
was positive although the rigger who did the inspection, not the boat
surveyor, recommended new turnbuckles although he maintained that was
mainly out of caution while not really a necessity because he noticed
any problem(s).
I believe NavTech recommends replacing the turnbuckles every 10 years or
40,000 miles, which ever comes first.

Question for the collective knowledge base here:
Would you sail a 1980s era boat with original rod rigging or is it
going to fall on your head any second?
