Mine is a smaller boat (27 ft).

With the 6:1 I can trim the main in any wind (at least, any wind I care to sail 
in). I changed it from the original 4:1, because of that very reason - in a 
blow I had problems pulling the main in, but even worse - when trying to 
release it a bit (you need to pull a bit on the sheet for the can cleat to 
release).

Hi Josh- It was Marek’s 3:1/6:1 setup I was referring to.  I think we discussed 
earlier that your setup looks nice, does not work as well with the traveller on 
the cabin top with limited space between the boom and traveller. Dave
