Download the app and use it to calculate for your particular configuration. Remember that the length is total length, i.e. there and back. So measure the lengths of both the positive wire and the negative as the total. Let's say 12 volts, 40 feet total, 3% drop, duplex cable (2 wires in the sheath), fused, not in engine room and a 90 degree C rating on the cable. For a Rule 1500 at 5 amps, 20 minute duration, the wizard yields 12 AWG wire. Dennis C.
