AFAIK you can have multiple P70 control heads. Fred can jump in, there are also wired and wireless remote controls around. I don’t know which ones work with the EV 100 offhand. I have the old Autohelm 4000 and have a remote on 15-20 feet of wire that is very nice ☺ Joe Coquina

I have had two seasons with the ev100, with the P70 control head mounted both on the cockpit bulkhead beside the helm (season one) and then moved to a pod at the pedestal. Seatalkng/n2k backbone throughout. I currently use an iPad as a chart plotter on and off a ram mount on the pedestal, so no integrated chart plotter, And have the i70 multifunction display beside the companionway. Seatalkng/n2k backbone throughout. Initially, I was debating autopilot location between the companionway and helm. Consistent with others' posts, After a season's use, primarily Because it is necessary to disengage the ev100 wheel-drive clutch manually steer anyway, I found that having the p70 at the helm is essential, and most convenient. (Wind shifts, avoiding collisions, furling sails) However, when single handing, I too like to sit in the companionway and would like to tweak the course from there. so while I think that with the clutch-at-wheel of the ev100, control at the helm is necessary, it would be ideal to have a second control location at the companionway. Long answer to a short question but it sets up mine, in the same vein. If I do not wish to buy a dedicated ray marine chart plotter, what do folks think is the best way to duplicate the autopilot controls at both the helm and companionway? Can you run 2 p70s? Can the ev100 autopilot be controlled via an app without the Ray chart plotter's wifi? Can a tablet-based chart plotter integrate with and control the ev-100? Thanks! I am out of the rain when I motor which is when I find that I use the autohelm the most. My autohelm draws 4.5 amps so I do not use it frequently without the engine running. I can however it is a power hog. Where are you going to stand when you are going to be using it? This type of mounting frees you from being stuck behind the wheel. If you sail with a crew (at least double handed), having the control at the wheel makes plenty of sense. But if you single hand often, I would say that you want to have the option to operate from in front of the wheel. So the control head should be reachable from there. When I sail solo I spend at least 50% of the time in front of the wheel. Of course, this is a function of where your sail controls are. I have the cabin top traveller and the cabin top winches for the genoa sheets. Just my $0.02
