I think I've said this before, but... If the old sail is blown out or is
junk there's no reason to try and sell it. Old sails tend to have some
really handy SS parts (like those little rings on the wishbones that go
through reefing points) and seriously good D Rings and other hardware
that is actually worth more than you'll get for the sail. Newer sails
don't have those parts unless you pay for them, and the SS parts are not
of the same quality.
I have a SS ring from a 30 year old sail that I currently clip the davit
onto when hauling the outboard up. Old SS hardware comes in really
handy (much like old rope) and you never know when you'll want it.
