You can have them converted. The sailmaker will cut off the existing luff and install a luff tape that threads into the foil. You will also need to have a UV cover sewn onto the leach and along the foot. This is only about 12" to 18" wide and can be white or made out of Sunbrella to match your Main Sail Cover or whatever. The sail may also need to be shortened a bit as the lower attachment point will be above the furling drum, so a bit higher than where you attach the tack now and the top will attach to a swivel so may be a bit lower than now.
Have the largest one (that you would expect reasonably to use) that is still in good condition converted and put the others to rest. It may be better to have a good new one made if the old ones are shot. False economy to put a bunch of money into a sail that is well beyond its prime. Ken H.
