Oh, this brings back a story -

A year and half ago after the Baltimore Fireworks, I was just nodding off in
the cockpit while my daughter and her husband were settling in the V berth
on their home on the water when I heard a scream.

Apparently Mike reached over in the dark to adjust a fan - appears there is
not much protection on the rear of those! Cut his finger badly, I poured
some whiskey in a glass and he put his finger in - brought tears to his
eyes. Bandaged it up and he was good to go.

I'm pretty sure that if there's a way to hit the blade I could find it even
in the house, Steve!

Thanks, for the recommendations, gents.

I've got the Caframos that David linked to. I installed them this past
season and I really like them, they are quiet and move a lot of air. When I
did my research they came very highly recommended. The only thing I don't
like is that they're exposed. On my 32 that can be a bit of a problem when
getting up in the middle of the night, watch out! Maybe not so much an issue
on your 40.

Andy - +1 on the Hellas; I've got several onboard, and they're lifesavers

One of my winter projects is to install a few cabin fans to keep cool on

Has anyone recommendations? I'm interested in quiet and economy of battery
