Edd,

My experience is that Edson's powder coating isn't the best anyway.  If you 
want black, take it to a powder coater and have it powder coated black before 
you install it.

It's on my project list to remove my pedestal and have it powder coated 
locally.  I installed an Edson engine control module on my pedestal in 2003.  
It's already showing separation of the coating.
