There are lots of very good marine products out there. I've got Garhauer,
Harken, Schaefer, Ronstan, etc on Touché.

I've sailed and raced on dozens of boats and used lots of marine products.

There's only two products that I'm convinced are the best of their kind; Harken
roller furlers and Lewmar rope clutches (properly sized).

In addition to the fact that they don't tear up line covers, they are the ONLY
rope clutch that I think reliably releases under load. The first time you
absolutely need to release a line and your cam style clutches won't release,
you'll appreciate what I'm saying. How often have you ever had to put a halyard
on a winch to release a cam style rope clutch?

This is not just an ease of use thing for me. It's a safety issue.

I've got a couple Spinlock PowerCleat cam style cleats on my cabin top for my
Cunningham and out haul. They work OK but not nearly as nicely as my two triple
Lewmars.
