I have a 30-1 full of Garhauer stuff and I like all of it. I only have one of
their clutches (put the other brand on before I heard about Garhauer) and I am
very pleased with it. It is on the main halyard, where I want to have no slip
and it does just that, replacing one of the other brand which didn't hold as
well. Other than the other clutches and a couple of old snatch blocks, the rest
of the boat is Garhauer.

  Subject: Stus-List Re Spinlock clutches

Sam Salter says “I've got Spinlock clutches. I think they are the best on the
market.”

Dwight Veinot says “I prefer Lewmar clutches.”

  My 1979 C&C 30 mk1 has Easy-Lock clutches: a triple on the starboard side, a
double and a single on the port.

I’ve been planning to replace them with 2 triples for the last 3 years, but
I’m indecisive. I can buy Spinlock or Lewmar at The Binnacle or mail order
Garhauer.

I don’t see a lot of Garhauer products around here but I ordered 2 Garhauer
snatch blocks last season and I like them a lot.

Can I ask for more heated argument about the relative merits of rope clutches?

  Thanks
