Gorilla Tape leaves a huge sticky residue when you remove it. I currently
use 3M #33 electrical tape to cover the caulking bead, it looks OK by the
ten foot rule. Because it's only 3/4" wide it doesn't draw too much
attention to itself. Rich can vouch for that. Maybe.
When we first got the boat, everything leaked. I spent the first winter
with every hatch and window taped over, and I found the best tape for that
job to be the 3M Performance tape. Good bond, very low residue even after 6
months, and 1 1/2" wide.
