Folks like me need the precision to differentiate about what is being discussed. I took my crypto classes back in the 1990's, long before cryptocurrency made the scene. When someone says "crypto" or "crypto-related", I think cryptography. Cryptocurrency is one application of cryptography. Also see "Crypto for cryptographers! Infosec types revolt against use of ancient abbreviation by Bitcoin and NFT devotees," <https://www.theregister.com/2021/11/23/crypto_graphy_or_currency/>. > We want nothing at all to do with any of it (well, I don't, at least), > even if not all of it is directly against the rules, does not violate > acceptable use directly: it is just distasteful. > > The cfarm is supposed to be used for developing (which includes testing > etc.) any software that is close enough to open source, anything that > benefits user freedom and all that goodness.
