Forgive my ignorance... when you say "crypto-related," do you mean just "cryptocurrency" or "mining" operations? Or does that include cryptographic libraries like Botan, Crypto++ and OpenSSL. If it includes cryptographic libraries, then I think it is casting too large a net. For these libraries, 'make test' should finish within minutes.
