Given the confusion surrounding it, this issue is definitely not invalid -- there's a real gap in the documentation.
I'm happy with a patch to NR 5.5.1 Aligning objects. Hopefully we could get somebody with a clue to write some exact text to copy&paste in there. Otherwise, James please prepare a patch, but this time I'll ask for review on -devel before pushing it.
