How does that fit together? Would `missing mkdir -p' invoke
`mkinstalldirs'? That would be fine with me, because then `mkinstalldirs'
is useful in it's own right for whoever wants it.

One thing I'm afraid of is that the Automake maintainers might
autonomously decide to bloat `missing' beyond a certain threshold with
tools that might not be universally applicable to the world at large
(texinfo or help2man come to mind), and not bother making things such as
`mkinstalldirs' or `install-sh' available separately. I'll bet lunch that
this would make people upset.


Btw., what's that `shtool' you keep talking about?
