Thank you for your input. For the record, FreeBSD 11.0-RC3 worked on each of these SD cards.
In the case that it might obe of interest for anyone, i paste here a new typescript, starting from downloading and veryfing the images, preparing miniroot and starting the installation, which cannot recognize the sd card on which it is running, showing no available disks. That is why I tried to install from one SD card to another, thinking it is supposed to be so until I saw that usb stick recognizes itself as the target disk. ===== Script started on Sun Oct 30 10:31:43 2016 $ fdisk sd1 Disk: sd1 geometry: 1887/255/63 [30318592 Sectors] Offset: 0 Signature: 0xAA55 Starting Ending LBA Info: #: id C H S - C H S [ start: size ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *0: 0C 0 32 33 - 0 97 33 [ 2048: 4096 ] Win95 FAT32L 1: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0 ] unused 2: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0 ] unused 3: A6 0 97 34 - 2 75 9 [ 6144: 30720 ] OpenBSD $ doas fdisk -e sd1 Enter 'help' for information fdisk: 1> p m Disk: sd1 geometry: 1887/255/63 [30318592 Sectors] Offset: 0 Signature: 0xAA55 Starting Ending LBA Info: #: id C H S - C H S [ start: size ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *0: 0C 0 32 33 - 0 97 33 [ 2048: 2M] Win95 FAT32L 1: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0M] unused 2: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0M] unused 3: A6 0 97 34 - 2 75 9 [ 6144: 15M] OpenBSD fdisk: 1> e 0 Starting Ending LBA Info: #: id C H S - C H S [ start: size ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *0: 0C 0 32 33 - 0 97 33 [ 2048: 4096 ] Win95 FAT32L Partition id ('0' to disable) [01 - FF]: [C] (? for help) 0 Partition 0 is disabled. fdisk:*1> e 3 Starting Ending LBA Info: #: id C H S - C H S [ start: size ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3: A6 0 97 34 - 2 75 9 [ 6144: 30720 ] OpenBSD Partition id ('0' to disable) [01 - FF]: [A6] (? for help) 0 Partition 3 is disabled. fdisk:*1> p m Disk: sd1 geometry: 1887/255/63 [30318592 Sectors] Offset: 0 Signature: 0xAA55 Starting Ending LBA Info: #: id C H S - C H S [ start: size ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0M] unused 1: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0M] unused 2: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0M] unused 3: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0M] unused fdisk:*1> w Writing MBR at offset 0. fdisk: 1> q $ disklabel sd1 # /dev/rsd1c: type: SCSI disk: SCSI disk label: Storage Device duid: 0000000000000000 flags: bytes/sector: 512 sectors/track: 63 tracks/cylinder: 255 sectors/cylinder: 16065 cylinders: 1887 total sectors: 30318592 boundstart: 0 boundend: 30318592 drivedata: 0 16 partitions: # size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg] c: 30318592 0 unused $ pwd /home/doasuser $ ftp ftp://ftp.obsd.si/pub/OpenBSD/snapshots/armv7/SHA256.sig Trying 91.185.196.203...
