That was a typo, sorry. That "the" was not supposed to be there.

I guess I did not make it to clear in my last post that I have fiddled around with all the mixer settings and none of them work; I have of course already tried unmuting them. Just now I tried it again both ways, still nothing. Any more ideas?

If you are sure that it still doesn't work when "Headphone LFE" and "Headphone Center" are MUTED, I will include my "amixer".I have looked at that, it didn't offer any helpful information. It just simply dones't work. :-/
