Thanks for this massive help. It's now about one week ago I did the things with alsa.
I did restore the setting with alsactl in a script which was started at the end of runlevel three in order to do the process automatically. But: 1. alsactl messaged me that no sound card is detected, although alsasound starts before the script is called. 2. alsasound start, restart and stop are not quiet doing there job (it seems to me), cause the modules aren't rmmod or insmod proberly. Beyond this alsactl is invoked in alsasound script which came with the tar or cvs tree. 3. I did the (re)store procedure as root. But still no effect. It seems to me that this command doesn't react and save the settings proberly. That's only for information. But I will figure out the thing with the prober alsactl invoke in modules.conf. Thanks again. You can put this in rc.local or whatever is appropriate for your system. Also, by default, alsactl tries writing to /etc, so you need to be root or use sudo if you choose to just run 'alsactl store'. - Brent > Alsa start everytime with no sound at console and i have to restore the > settings by kmix.
