Hello together! As I had problems with xmms, Linux-2.4.18 and Alsa 0.5.11 on my SuSE 7.0 box I got the advice from this list to upgrade to Alsa 0.9. I did this yesterday. Now xmms works fine but I have still problems with midi.
I've got an Soundblaster Live card. Using Alsa 0.5.11 under KDE's Control-Center in section Sounds/Midi I could choose between four different midi devices (Emu10k1 Port 0 to Emu10k1 Port3). After choosing one of them midi programs such as kmid and noteedit worked fine. Now, with Alsa 0.9 I do not see any midi device in the same section and find now other way to get kmid and noteedit working. (BTW: I'm using KDE2.2.1). Unfortunately Alsa documentation about midi is hard to find and could not help me. Can anyone here tell me what to do to get midi working?
