The name "rest" was part of a really large and intricate series of interconnected puns (the best one that Agora's seen since I originally registered; I don't know whether or not there was a better one earlier). It wouldn't make much sense out of context. Both Rests and Blots could be destroyed by destroying a matching number of assets (Notes and Indulgences, respectively). So the modern analogue would likely be a "negative shiny". -- ais523
