Re what a subgame is, I think I'd define "subgame" as something like "delimited 
set of activities intended to be fun primarily for its own sake". A subgame 
doesn't have to be defined outside of the ruleset, nor is it necessary for a 
subgame to be isolated from the rest of Agora (but there should be some 
dividing line there for it to be a "subgame").

I'm not so sure. If a subgame only interacts with Agora through winning and 
whatnot, then it's just a game played on the same mailing list, where you get a 
tiny prize if you win. But I suppose that's not much of a problem; if a subgame 
is fun, it's going to remain fun even if it's not attached to the outer game.
