This is simply not true. There are a growing number of contributing AGI 
researchers that are convinced that consciousness is the foundation of 
intelligence and that the brain is a quantum computer as well as having various 
quantum theories of panpsychism. Personally, I find it difficult to see the 
human brain as not being a quantum computer, or really a hybrid, and that helps 
explain many things that are roadblocks in purely classical models. Orthodoxy 
and fixed thinking though are difficult to overcome for many as well as it 
being a control model where a shifting foundation is perceived as some sort of 
threat. But the evidence is increasing.

It's similar to archaeologists discounting evidence of technologically advanced 
civilizations existing tens of thousands of years ago, there is ample evidence, 
but the establishment ignores and suppresses it for bizarre and really selfish 
reasons...
