As far as BEAD, even without a DOGE department, a lot of people might agree that BEAD is way too big and a waste of taxpayer money.  But is it too late to get the genie back in the bottle?  Normally I would think so.  But the next administration is promising a lot of things that I would normally think are too outside the box, so maybe BEAD could get cancelled or at least get a severe haircut.

Historically, republican administrations were always against the USDA RUS programs.  I presume they will be against the Bead if they can be.  As far as the FCC goes, one would think Elon would be no friend to the WISPS.  Who knows....

I see this in Politico "Carr has repeatedly pushed for a more aggressive plan to free up wireless spectrum for the private sector” and wonder what that means, aside from auctioning it all off to VZ/ATT/etc., will we get any without billions to spend?

Neither party is really all that great for small operators. There's a Venn Diagram of sorts of things that are for and against small ISPs with both parties, with neither party really taking home the prize for best.
