Not the one you were referring to, but this seems quite appropriate for today's
climate.

I was a Reagan conservative. I think Ronnie would be confused if he were
reincarnated in today’s political landscape, like one of those movies where
someone comes out of suspended animation 50 years in the future. Maybe like the
Woody Allen movie Sleeper where in the future chocolate and fat are health
foods.

When in college I was a fiscal conservative, small government, don’t waste
money. All except for pell grants...

It’s hard to keep track, like I can’t remember are they going to ban Tiktok, or
save it?

And are EVs good, or bad?

And what if all the fiber techs are illegal immigrants?

As far as BEAD, even without a DOGE department, a lot of people might agree
that BEAD is way too big and a waste of taxpayer money. But is it too late to
get the genie back in the bottle? Normally I would think so. But the next
administration is promising a lot of things that I would normally think are too
outside the box, so maybe BEAD could get cancelled or at least get a severe
haircut.

Historically, Republicans were about reduced spending. That's gone.

Historically, republican administrations were always against the USDA RUS
programs. I presume they will be against the Bead if they can be. As far as the
FCC goes, one would think Elon would be no friend to the WISPS. Who knows....

I see this in Politico "Carr has repeatedly pushed for a more aggressive plan
to free up wireless spectrum for the private sector” and wonder what that
means, aside from auctioning it all off to VZ/ATT/etc., will we get any without
billions to spend?

What is the source of your appreciation for Carr? Is it something solid like a
variety of specific policy proposals he has talked about or is it simply
because he said things favorably of your preferred political candidate?

Neither party is really all that great for small operators. There's a Venn
Diagram of sorts of things that are for and against small ISPs with both
parties, with neither party really taking home the prize for best.

So what will Carr do for/against the little guys?
