I also missed that.

I’m not sure the PTP version even has sync capability, you’d have to check the
spec sheet or user manual. I wouldn’t use 900 MHz for backhaul so I am not
familiar with the product, other than as you say, it’s the SM hardware (and
therefore I assume needs 24V power).

Oh, wait... I just realized he said *PTP* 450i... if that's the case, that
changes things (that would be the same hardware, physically, as the 900mhz 450i
SM). The 900mhz PMP450i SM does have the old 6 pin connector on it, but I don't
remember if that's usable for sync or not.. you might need sync over power.

If it is actually a PMP450i AP, then yeah, the simplest thing for a single AP
is to just get the AUX port Syncbox Junior and be done with it.

AUX port is RJ45. Apparently you can make a 6pin to 8pin adapter cable
following instructions in the Cambium documentation, to convert from timing
port to AUX port.

Syncpipes have been EOL for awhile, so I forget how many versions there were.
I know there was a BASIC and a PARASITIC. I don’t remember if there was a
version that could be powered directly from a timing/UGPS/AUX port.

Personally, I’d spend the $130 and get the new version. Or if it’s a SyncPipe
BASIC, buy a PowerInjector+CambiumSync.

Is the aux port sync the old input? Can he just hang his old syncpipe off that
directly

I think that AP has an AUX port, doesn’t it? So you could use a Syncbox Junior
AUX port version.

Thank you. This is a small site with a handful of customers… and I only need
sync on this one radio. Will any of the smaller units work?

Rackinjector you use the Power Injection for Cambium Sync Board cards. For a
powerinjector you use the Powerinjector Plus Cambium-Style

I have a site where I need sync only for a PTP 450i 900 MHz AP. Any
recommendation for which PacketFlux injector to use?

[I have some old syncpipes, but they are not new enough.]

Thank you, Chris
