I vaguely recall I was either dealing with something where I had to type paths into some sort of boot-shell like thing, or needing to hack one of the early-boot rc scripts. Unfortunately, it's been a few years. When I get back around to dinking with a Plan 9 system, I'll try to keep better notes.
