For the hardware, I will put money where my mouth is: I will gladly donate some hundreds of $ to help to gather the amount needed to get some hardware. What structure will gather and administrate the founds is to be decided---the plan9 foundation seemed to me an obvious choice, but I'm not adamant about this as long as we don't see again an increase of entropy. Donate: no strings attached; I'm not claiming "rights" to access the hardware, or to have a voice to decide who or what will have it, and neither candidating to be part of a "team": On the kernel side, I'm largely out of my depth for now with far more questions than answers and I'm currently mastering a lot of documentation to reach a reasonable level of understanding, both about the problems and about the different solutions proposed, now or before---still hoping that at the end there will still be good questions left unanswered so that there is perhaps a good path that has still not be tried ;-) > > Deal? > > This is hard work, and it's far more important to be persistent over a > long time than to get excited, put out a huge effort, and then drop > it. > > It's WAY more important to put in the "think time" to work out how it > gets done than to write code.
