Goodness me! thanks very much for analysing that problem. In fact, I'm 99% certain these anomalous .jpg are output from Adobe Illustrator; I'll ask the external company to check their presets and make sure they send us RGB in future. (in fact, I've already run into other problems with their graphics where the title in the properties is left over from quite different pictures ...)
