Thank you very much Hussein, I copied the document that I sent to you to a new library, and opened it from there, -i.e. with all the missing references that you saw. In that case, it is chapter 2, section 2.1 that I want to copy as a reference.
However as I open it without all the resources to be included, you are absolutely right, that I can mark section 2.1, and do a "copy as reference". Now I have stripped off all references etc from the document (attached), and still I can't mark section 1 ("Mounting and Adjustment") Should be much easier for you to debug now. Best reg. (Rationale: it does not make sense to copy a reference as a reference.) More precisely, - When the included element is selected as a whole, "Copy" will copy its reference and not duplicate the included element. - When something is selected inside the included element, "Copy" will make a normal copy of the selection, that is, duplicate the selection. * XMLmind XML Editor does not always behave as expected when the document being edited is structurally invalid (red icon at the bottom/left of the main window). In other words, please first fix your document before attempting to add things to it. --> Using the attached document, “Copy as reference” works as expected. However, the attached document is full of xi:include pointing to files you didn't send us ("../../Standard%20Modules/..."). For this reason, I don't see any "Section 2.4" in it. Please send us a document, possibly comprising a set of .xml files, allowing us to reproduce the problem you describe. > > The “Edit / Reference / Copy as reference” is grey nomatter which > element I select in this document. > Kaj Hjøllund Jensen also wrote: > Forgot, -XML-Mind version 5.5.0.
