Well, it looks like the epsi file isn't transparent, so it's not  
imagemagick's fault.
I tried adding --transparent white to the convert commands, which does  
make the map usable, but leads to antialiasing problems.

I can't seem to get a proper version out of the ps2epsi command, but as  
it's a shell script I got this:

Sorry, I don't know (la)tex very well, basically all i know is what you  
need to write formulas on mediawiki's latex extension.
Did you use a script to create the .tex file? Maybe one could write one to  
generate mazes out of those arrows :)
