Whether or not a trailing space matters, will depend a lot on the underlying technology. Often it won't matter. In some cases, it might cause reflow of a certain line. I don't know if/where it matters in Wesnoth. It is certainly not the world's worst translation error, but I think it is still worthwhile to fix. The space could matter in some cases (like messages ending in '...: ') if things are joined to other text or GUI components. Also, high quality translations are more useful for reuse. If you get a suggestion to reuse this message elsewhere, it is best if it is of the best quality, without small issues like this. With pofilter, you can run the checks for whitespace at the start and end of the string separately (in case you are only interested in one at a time).
