Sorry but this requires a response. Django and Rails (frameworks!!) are *far* better examples than the CMSs you point out.
BSD/MIT are definitionally better for users than GPL because they are more permissive. You'd have to prove some sort of unintended circumstance to dispute that for which there is no evidence. Django and Rails have not suffered whatever Massimo is worried about. Quite the opposite, they have very large and active user bases.
