i see. i think it might be a missed opportunity as such application
could be very successful
and would greatly popularize the platform.

imagine having web2py wiki being able to import MW database
automatically.

lot's of people would give it a try as very many are frustrated by the
clunkiness of MW design.

even if you have settled on reST, I hope somebody else will consider
writing MW successor
in web2py.

lastly - IMO - the future of wiki lies in wysiwyg tools, less in
improving markup.
this is because the key in wiki success is increasing ratio of writers/
readers and you'll get more
writers if it's easy and more fun to add content.
