I'm not sure what a 502 http error code means in this case. I've seen a HTTPort-FAQ that suggests you should try another host(name) and/or port to forward to. So maybe you could look into that. If I remember correctly, 502 errors have also been discussed on the httptunnel mailing list, but onfortunately no explanation was provided.
