FWIW, another program that I often use to allow several people to edit a
single file at the same time or watch what someone else is doing is
"kibitz," but it works only for ttys.
Also, if you are not sure whether VNC does what you require, I suggest
installing it and trying it - it took me only a few minutes to do this
and I had never heard of the program before, so you are unlikely to lose
much time in the event that it is unsuitable.
