I think this question and suggestions should be added in the FAQ or
Troubleshooting section in realvnc.com
There could be many possibilities:
1. Your destination computer has no VNC server. Check the hostname you
typed or the IP address.
2. If you're sure it has VNC server, maybe its port isn't the usual one,
ie 5900. Or check that it has no firewall if the destination computer
is a WinXP.
