Different Functions. VNC allows for a remote user to control a machine. VPN is networking tool to allow *ANY* traffic to travel securely between two points. There are a few combo type of tools available... tightVNC mindVNC But in the end you *MUST* understand that there are multiple things working together to get the job done. Each doing just one part. Just one example of parts, just to get VNC running at home. 2 computers 2 nic cards 2 cables 1 hub/switch tcp/ip stack both computers on same subnet Now to go far for between two points on the internet.
