I Sieghard. I too prefer the native mail. Of late it has started being more intrusive though. For each mail, it lables it as “update” “promotion” etc. By the “labels” did you mean the same thing and is it at all possible that the mail app does not bother finding out whether an email is promotional or it is an update or some other category?  I am sure it is reading the email to identify the type.
