Then your problem is most probably distribution specific and may be a
result of a line that was in /etc/fstab before installation and is now
causing a problem. In modern linux distros usb doesn't need any fstab
lines but virtualbox needs /proc/bus/usb to work although it doesn't
seem to contain anything anymore. I have this line in fstab:-
usbfs     /proc/bus/usb    usbfs    noauto    0 0 which after commenting
out makes no difference to my system as far a usb is concerned. I am
assuming that vbox makes use of hal for usb nowadays.
Sorry I can't help you more, I suggest you start a new thread with
subject of "cannot see any usb devices in virtualbox" Stating the name
of your linux distribution will help.
